Alishan Tour!

Below are many different pictures, and the story of the tour will be explained...

Right before our family headed out to take the tour of Alishan's beautiful nature, we said farewell to the hotel that we stayed at. Although the appearance is a lot better than the hotel we stayed at at the Sun Moon Lake, the inside was a bit disappointing.

Before boarding the train that would take us to the Alishan tour, a picture was taken to show the true beauty of nature on the second floor of the railroad station.

Finding out that the train had a problem, we decided to just walk the two hour course and took a picture of the station just as a memory.

There weren't many flowers on the tour of nature's beauty, but this flower was eye-catching.

This is another picture of the flower in the picture above. It really was beautiful, especially because it had more that one color of it's kind.

The trees' formation was very unique, and was a must to take a picture of.

Being reminded of the Fountain of the Youth in the Pirate's of the Caribbean's latest movie, we took a shot right in front of it.

The sunlight glared at us through the high and tall trees above us.

This is a picture of Jessica and Dad in front of the Little Sister's Lake. Jessica is holding Mom's bag, and Dad is holding Jessica's bag.

Because of the shade that the trees provided for Michael and Mom, their beautiful faces weren't shown, but the trees were very cool.

As said before, the trees' formations were very unique and noticeable. This is a tree that winds itself around another tree, making it look exactly like a pig.

Jessica and Michael stood before a tree that looked just like a heart, and the heart can be very clearly seen in this picture too!

Just after finishing the inside two hour course, Jessica and Dad were exhausted. But they still had a little more than half an hour to walk in order to exit the whole place.

In front of the Sacred Tree, Jessica and Michael tried their best to not look as tired as they were. There were many people in line to take a picture in front of this tree, so these two were lucky to get their just before the tour groups!

Finishing their tour, just leaving 20 minutes of a walk, Jessica, Mom, and Michael sit in front of a mountain where the clouds seemed as if they were posing for this picture.

Nine Tribe Cultural Village

Right next to Sun Moon Lake, the next day, our family decided to go to a place called Nine Tribe Cultural Village. This place was very big, and unexpectedly also had an amusement park. In order to go there, our family had to ride a cable car that took us across two very high mountains.

While on the cable car, Jessica and Dad took a picture, putting the amazingly large amount of green trees right  behind them.

This picture was taken from the cable car. All four of us were quite shocked that there were stairs there, and were more shocked at the thought of people actually walking up those steps.

This is another picture that was taken from the cable car. It was mainly taken because it was fascinating how the Sun Moon Lake had different colors of water, even when it was all just one lake.

Since it was a cultural village, there were obviously some shows that showed us all about their specific tribe. This part of the show was when the men were getting ready for hunting.

Finding a hammock on the side of the road, Michael found peace at how comfortable the hammock was.

As said before, there was an amusement park towards the rear back part of the cultural village. The first ride that Jessica, Mom, and Michael rode was the Caribbean Splash. They were all soaking when the ride was over.

This was Jessica and Michael after riding the Caribbean Splash, they were all wet. But still, they thought that it was worth it, because the ride was so fun. The ride can be seen in the background.

To dry themselves from the Caribbean Splash, Jessica and Michael headed for the UFO Gyro Drop. This was a ride that would go up 85 meters, and then suddenly drop.

Loving the UFO Gyro Drop, Jessica and Michael decided to ride it again.

Sun Moon Lake!

These are some pictures that were taken before going to Sun Moon Lake and after the whole family arrived at Sun Moon Lake. There was a great background for us to all take pictures!

Right behind Michael, there is a very skinny building in this picture. That building is our hotel that the four of us stayed at. Although from it's outer looks, it looks very cheap and not very good, it was pretty high-quality as soon as we stepped inside the building.

Here is a fantastic picture showing Sun Moon Lake! There was a small island-type of land smack in the middle of the lake, and we figured that we would add it in.

Our family went up just in time for the sunset, since at the Sun Moon Lake, people are able to see the sun and the moon very well. Unfortunately, there were many clouds that were covering it up. However, we were still able to get a great picture of it!

Here is a picture of Jessica, Mom, and Michael as we were waiting in line to take a picture in front of a stone.

Here is a picture of Jessica!

As said in the caption of a picture above, many people were eagerly waiting to take a picture in front of this stone! There is nothing particularly special about this rock, but it just says Sun Moon Lake in Chinese Characters.

Having waited for a long time to take a picture in front of this rock, we decided to take a second picture in front of the rock!

This picture was taken very late at night, a little past 9:00 PM, so the picture wasn't able to take in all of the amazing pictures. This temple was very big, and we were able to see lots of different things.

Ching Jing Farm!!!!

For our last trip with Michael before he leaves for college, our family decided to go to two places. The first was Ri Yue Tan, which can be translated as the Sun Moon Lake. The lake got it's name because of the fact that the sun and the moon can be very well seen if you are at the lake. The second place that we went to was Alishan, Ali Mountain.

This is such a beautiful picture of the sky~! The clouds were resting on top of a mountain far away.

At the Ching Jing Farm, there were many sheep that we were able to take pictures with. This is one with Dad and two sheep.

In front a whole lot of sheep, Jessica was afraid approach them too much.

Michael sat down as soon as he saw some sheep.

This is a great picture of Mom in front of four white sheep!

Having bought a package of sheep food, Jessica and Michael split it into two, both taking turns feeding the sheep.

As soon as other sheep saw that Jessica and Michael were giving out sheep food, other sheep from far away hurried to come to them, surrounding them and keeping them from being able to move.

Obviously the best shot from the whole trip at Ching Jing Farm. Dad was the photographer and snapped this picture just as Jessica lead the sheep towards Dad, luring the sheep with the food.

In front of an amazing background, Jessica and Dad comically poses on the top of a small hill.

Friendship 2011 Concert in Taipei!

It is evident that K-pop is very popular all over Asia,
including in Taiwan. During this concert, our family had
an opportunity to witness and participate in the heated
concert with many singers from Korea and Taiwan. It was very
exciting to see singers that we are familiar with as well as
some of the celebrities of Taiwan itself.

Visit to Jiufun

Jiufun is located at the north of Taipei. In years 1920 to 1930,
it was a gold mine. Now, it is one of the most famous tourist
sites in Taiwan because a famous Taiwanese movie was filmed in
this particular site. Our family experienced and enjoyed the alleys
of Jiufun. The following pictures show some recreational activities that
can be enjoyed in Jiufun, such as cultural garbs, military outfits, and shops.

Chinese Chess.

Military uniforms of early Republic of China.

Transportation from 1920 to 1930.

A store of Taiwan from about 1920 to 1930.

A large temple next to Jiufun.
