Friendship 2011 Concert in Taipei!

It is evident that K-pop is very popular all over Asia,
including in Taiwan. During this concert, our family had
an opportunity to witness and participate in the heated
concert with many singers from Korea and Taiwan. It was very
exciting to see singers that we are familiar with as well as
some of the celebrities of Taiwan itself.

Visit to Jiufun

Jiufun is located at the north of Taipei. In years 1920 to 1930,
it was a gold mine. Now, it is one of the most famous tourist
sites in Taiwan because a famous Taiwanese movie was filmed in
this particular site. Our family experienced and enjoyed the alleys
of Jiufun. The following pictures show some recreational activities that
can be enjoyed in Jiufun, such as cultural garbs, military outfits, and shops.

Chinese Chess.

Military uniforms of early Republic of China.

Transportation from 1920 to 1930.

A store of Taiwan from about 1920 to 1930.

A large temple next to Jiufun.

Visiting Taipei's Flora Exposition (without Michael)

The following picture are picture taken from our digital camera when we visited Taipei's Flora Exposition. It was really a great sight to enjoy! Although it was so big that our feet started to hurt towards the end...
There will be no comments under the photos, so please have fun watching the photos and imagining a variety of stuff while looking at colorful flowers. Enjoy!

Visit to Yeliu (without Michael)

On the day that Michael left Taiwan to continue his learning in TCIS, the rest of our family went to visit Yeliu. It was a rainy day, but that didn't stop us from having fun and enjoying the amazing view of the Queen Rock.

Because of the rain, we had to either put on our jacket hoods or share the only umbrella that just happened to be in the car with us.

This is the very famous Queen Rock. Because of the long line of people, we had to wait, and Dad wasn't able to join in because we had to hurry.

This was a very peculiar looking rock that we found by the ocean shore. Doesn't it look so much like a slipper?

This is a rock that looks like a dragon's head.

This is a picture of Dad and Jessica standing in from of the dragon's-head-like rock.

There were many different types of rocks at Yeliu. Jessica just happened to choose this strange-looking rock to stand in front of.

Here is a picture that really shows how beautiful the ocean was that day!

The land was paved because of the strong waves that used to hit this place. But the tide had decreased, and so now, there is now water where these rocks are standing.

Here are some more rocks that were neighboring the ocean! They looked very similar to mushroom heads in real life.

This is a picture of the same place as the above picture, but from a different angle.

This is Jessica standing in front of the "mushroom-heads". ;)

This picture stood out to us because it was on the floor! It reminded all three of us of a painting, drawn by the waves.
